Outdoor RULES OF SHOOTING ON ALL TOURNAMENT DAYS THROUGH THE SEASON THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE TO BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO. ALL ARCHERS ARE THEREFORE REQUIRED TO READ AND COMMIT TO MEMORY THE FOLLOWING AS NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED AND CLAIMING IGNORANCE WILL BE NO DEFENCE. LINE CAPTAIN THE DUTIES OF THE LINE CAPTAIN WILL BE PERFORMED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE. IF NO COMMITTEE MEMBER IS PRESENT THEN THE LINE CAPTAINS DUTIES WILL BE PERFORMED BY THE MOST SENIOR MEMBER PRESENT ON THE DAY. THE ACTING LINE CAPTAIN IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCING THE RULES LAID DOWN IN THIS CHARTER AND HAS THE FULL AUTHORITY OF THE COMMITTEE IN THE DISCHARGE OF THIS DUTY. DRESS G.N.A.S. DRESS RULE 307 SHALL BE APPLIED ON ALL NOMINATED TOURNAMENT DAYS. 307. DRESS REGULATIONS. Ladies are required to wear a dress or skirt or trousers or tailored shorts with suitable top. Gentlemen are required to wear trousers or tailored shorts with long or short sleeved shirts. Sweaters/Cardigans/Blazers may be worn. Each garment shall be plain dark green or white. There is no objection to wearing green and white garments together. Waterproof clothing worn only during inclement weather is not subject to these regulations. Footwear must be worn at all times during the tournament. Any archer not conforming to the above regulations shall be requested to leave the shooting line and will not be permitted to shoot. SIGHTERS EACH SUNDAY FROM THE FIRST IN APRIL TO THE LAST IN OCTOBER IS DESIGNATED AS A TOURNAMENT DAY AND NO CASUAL SHOOTING IS ALLOWED ON THESE DAYS. THERE WILL BE TWO SESSIONS DURING THE DAY AND ALL ARCHERS WISHING TO SHOOT IN A PARTICULAR SESSION ARE REQUIRED TO BE ON THE SHOOTING LINE FOR THE STIPULATED TIMES, THESE BEING: MORNING SESSION. SIGHTERS 10.00am AFTERNOON SESSION. SIGHTERS 2.00pm ANY ARCHER ARRIVING ON THE SHOOTING LINE AFTER THE FIRST ARROW OF THE ROUND HAS BEEN SHOT IN EITHER SESSION, THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE SIGHTERS, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT DURING THE REMAINDER OF THAT SESSION. THEY MAY SHOOT IN THE NEXT SESSION PROVIDED THEY ARE ON THE SHOOTING LINE FOR THE STIPULATED TIME. ROUNDS TOURNAMENT DAYS WILL ALTERNATE ON A WEEKLY BASIS BETWEEN METRIC AND ENGLISH ROUNDS COMMENCING ON THE FIRST SUNDAY IN APRIL WITH AN ENGLISH ROUND. EVERY ARCHER MUST DECLARE THE ROUND THEY ARE GOING TO SHOOT BEFORE THE START OF A SESSION. ON TOURNAMENT DAYS THERE WILL BE NO ROUNDS SHOT IN THE AFTERNOON SESSION FROM THE BACK LINE. ALL SCORE SHEETS MUST BE SIGNED AND PLACED INTO THE CORRECT BOX AT THE END OF EVERY ROUND. CONDUCT ALL ARCHERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE G.N.A.S. RULES OF ETIQUETTE. APPENDIX A
A GOOD ARCHER Does not talk in a loud voice whilst others are shooting. Does not talk to another competitor who obviously prefers to be silent. Does not make any exclamation on the shooting line which might disconcert a neighbour in the act of shooting. Does not go behind the target to retrieve his/her arrows before his/her score has been recorded. Does not walk up and down the shooting line comparing scores. Does not touch anyone else's equipment without permission. Does not leave litter. When calling scores does so in groups of three for example. 7-7-5 pause 5-5-3. If he/she breaks another's arrow through his/her own carelessness they pay for it in cash on the spot. Thanks the Target Captain at the end of each round for the work on his behalf.
Indoor GENERAL All rules as laid down in the members handbook relating to out door shooting safety requirements and conduct will be applied, as far as possible, to indoor shooting.
SAFETY The emergency exit door at the end of the club house MUST be secured from the inside so as to prevent persons from entering the building whilst shooting is taking place. The maximum number of members to shoot at any one session is 8. These will shoot in two details, 4 per detail. All bows are to be placed behind the shooting line while shooting is taking place. No over head draws are allowed. Individuals shooting by themselves do so entirely at their own risk in respect of personal injuries.
FINANCES Each member shooting indoors will be charged a fee of £1.00 per normal session and £2.00 for competitions. This fee covers the cost of petrol, target faces and a proportioned cost of the sum expended to construct the extension. One member, from each session, must be responsible for collecting shooting fee's. All fee's are to be collected before shooting commences. Members not paying the fee will NOT be allowed to shoot!
BOOKING RANGE Due to the restricted numbers that can use the range at any one session, a system of booking the range must be adopted. Members wishing to shoot on any particular evening will be required to place their names on the board provided under the day they wish to shoot.
COMPETITIONS Postal Leagues will be entered dependant upon numbers wishing to participate in the events, and will run between November and March The league will consist of shooting 1 round per month, dates of which will be announced at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Sighters for competitions shall be at 7.00pm. Members arriving late may shoot, but they will not be allowed to make up any ends they have missed. |
